Some Pretty Cure protagonists aren’t just magical heroes, but celebrities too – and their careers are as important as any battle.

The protagonists of the nice remedy The franchise is known to be heroic magical girls, but some Cures are also famous for their civilian identity. These characters’ celebrity careers are often just as important to their stories as their battles to save the world, and their two responsibilities aren’t always unrelated.

Here are five of Pretty cure biggest celebrities and why their stories are truly magical (girls).

Yes! pretty remedy 5 Lemonade

In Yes! pretty remedy 5, Urara Kasugano’s late mother was a famous actress and Urara wants to follow in her footsteps. In addition to fighting evil as Cure Lemonade, Urara performs on stage, on television, and has also recorded songs. The crossover film The miraculous leap of the pretty cure shows she’s achieving her goal – she’s seen on TV when the news reports about her new role.


Hugtto! Jolie Cure Cure Angel

Hugtto! nice remedy‘s Saaya Yakushiji, aka Cure Angel, has a story similar to that of Cure Lemonade, but with a very different conclusion. When the Trump kingdom was attacked by the selfish villain, Makoto and the princess fled to Earth, but were separated along the way.

Since Marie Ange had always loved her singing, Makoto decided to become an idol in order to search for the princess, hoping that Marie Ange would recognize her by her songs. Makoto’s choice of career isn’t entirely down to the princess, however – even after finding out what happened to Marie Ange, Makoto decides to continue being an idol.

To go! Princess Jolie Cure: Twinkle Cure

Like Urara and Saaya, Kirara Amanogawa wants to follow in her mother’s footsteps, a famous model. Kirara is already famous in her own right, appearing in magazines and recognized as a celebrity by her classmates. When she first transformed into the Cure Twinkle, Kirara did not want to join the other Cures due to her busy modeling schedule, but ultimately decided to make time for both of her responsibilities.

At the end of To go! Princess, an adult Kirara managed to become a famous model. Fresh Pretty Cure‘s Miki Aono, aka Cure Berry, had a similar dream of becoming a supermodel, but she didn’t seem as famous as Kirara yet.

Kira Kira Jolie Fashionable Cure: Perfect Cure

Ciel Kirahoshi is known as the “Pastry Genius” and is essentially a celebrity chef. It’s actually a fairy named Kirarin, who went to France with her twin brother Pikario to study pastry. Pikario was jealous of Kirarin’s natural talent, and when she acquired her human form from Ciel, he was ultimately pressured to leave her and become a villain.

When Ciel realizes that Pikario feels bad about himself because of her, she becomes depressed and it is only after reconciling with her brother that she can become the Perfect Cure. Ciel opens her own shop, which quickly becomes popular, but she also helps the other Cures at the Kira Kira pastry shop.

Star Twinkle Pretty Cure: Cure Cosmo

Mao is a famous intergalactic idol, but like Makoto, she has an ulterior motive behind her singing career. Mao’s true identity is Yuni from planet Rainbow, who steals stolen treasures from his planet as the Blue Cat phantom thief. She uses Mao’s identity to get close to the wealthy aliens who hold Rainbow’s treasures, but her music has a bigger impact on the whole series: the alien mascot Prunce was about to give up the search for the Pretty Cures, but hearing Mao’s song renewed his hope. Without Yuni’s famous alter ego, the Cures may never have been found, and she herself will eventually become the fifth member of the team, Cure Cosmo.
