Nagpur: IN Good news for travelers, the South East Central Railway (SECR) will begin its inaugural rail service on the NagpurC hhindwara Broad Gauge route from February 22. in March 2020.
Apart from Chhindwara, two other services would start, namely to Gondia ex-Itwari and to Durg ex-Gondia. This means that around six pairs of passenger trains would run in Nagpur Division. These trains would run as special on special charges and for Itwari-Gondia a MEMU rake is sanctioned, but for Chhindwara the regular passenger train would be operated in accordance with the statement from Dr SNM ukherjee, Deputy Director of Operations (Coaching), SECR, Bilaspur.
Of the three services, Chhindwara is quite large and the old Narrow Gauge has been converted to Broad Gauge, but commercial train services had not yet started. Until now, trains ran just before Chhindwara and some balancing work in the arenas at the station had yet to be completed. Subsequently, the nationwide lockdown prevented the resumption of services and now that the Railway Commission is gradually restarting trains, the service for Itwari-Chhindwara-Itwari has received the green signal.
Fast train # 08119 ITR-CWA will run daily from February 22 and will start exiting the ITR at 7.45 am and will arrive in Chhindwara at 11.45 am. This means that the distance of almost 160 km will be covered in four hours. The planned stops are Kelod, Saoner, Khaparkheda, Saunsar, Patansawangi, among others
