Mix family with business! Many famous families have multiple actors – and some of those parents have gone on to share the screen together.
Robbie amell, who worked with his cousin Stephen amell on projects like Flash, previously explained how they look too alike to share scenes with each other.
“It’s hard, we are quite similar in appearance. We’re not going to play tied, ”said Robbie Weekly entertainment in December 2019. “That was part of the reason why they weren’t letting [our characters] talk to each other on Flash, they were like, ‘This is too weird. People know you’re related, you can’t talk to each other.
Robbie and Stephen would later work together on their crowd-funded film, Code 8.
“Partly, we just needed to create something for ourselves. We figured if we weren’t ready to bet on ourselves, then why should we expect someone else to? Robbie explained to GE. “We wanted to give it a go and do something that we would be proud of, something that the people who support us would be proud of.”
However, not all family members want to work on the same projects, including Maggie and Jake gyllenhaal, who were reluctant to team up. Richard kelly has already talked about having to convince Maggie to take the role in Donnie Darko alongside his brother.
“Immediately she said to me, ‘Richard, you only give me this because I’m Jake’s big sister. You should find the best actress for the role,” said the director. Vox in April 2017. “So she was already trying to talk me out of launching it, in a very selfless way. And I was really impressed with that… So I was really determined to convince her to do it after that.
The movie wouldn’t be what it was without the brother-sister dynamic Maggie and Jake brought to their roles.
“Maggie was really an essential piece of the puzzle that makes this dynamic family work in the movie,” Kelly added. “I’m grateful that she agreed to play the part.”
David Franco also went out of his way not to work with his brother James franco earlier in his career.
“For a while, I made a conscious decision not to work with him, just because I wanted to chart my own course,” Dave said in an interview with Variety in November 2017. “I didn’t want to be referred to as ‘James Franco’s little brother’ for the rest of my life. But we have very similar sensitivities.
