Celebrities congratulate Dia Mirza: Dia Mirza, actress, United Nations Goodwill Ambassador for the environment and advocate for the United Nations Secretary-General for the Sustainable Development Goals and IFAW Global Ambassador, on Wednesday, July 14, revealed that she and her husband Vaibhav Rekhi were fortunate enough to have a baby boy, Avyaan.

Mirza added that he arrived on May 14 but had to be treated at the NICU by “tireless doctors and nurses” due to the premature delivery. A sudden appendectomy during her pregnancy and a very serious bacterial infection could have resulted in potentially fatal sepsis, she revealed. But she received timely treatment and her son was born by cesarean section. Mirza thanked all of her fans and supporters for their concern and said they would have revealed the news sooner if it had been possible. No sooner had she made the announcement than she started receiving congratulatory messages from everywhere.
