Abuse of AAP leaders; Twitter administration sleeps

As vile and abusive tweets posted by Aam Aadmi (AAP) Party MP Virender Singh Kadian came to light on Monday, huge controversy erupted and netizens demanded that the leader be sacked by the party with immediate effect. Her old tweets went viral on social media and were written using derogatory language against Hindus, women, journalists, political opponents and media figures.

Kadian, after receiving the party ticket, got his seat in Delhi Cantt constituency in southwest Delhi. After being called out for using deplorable language beyond imagination and which cannot be tolerated at all, that too if it was from a democratically elected leader, the AAP MP claimed that his account Twitter had been hacked and tweeted: “I want to let everyone know my verified account has been hacked. Someone has tweeted some very despicable tweets from my account. I am taking legal action against this person.

Although the funny, abusive and despicable tweets uploaded using his ID date back to the year 2017 and this clearly bears no relation to the claim he is currently making that his account is hacked.

Tweets, including those from 2017 which are now available on the internet as screenshots, show how Kadian pledged to abuse Hindu deities and godmen and their followers.

It was noted that he was constantly involved in the abuse of people who did not agree with his political ideologies. In one of his tweets, he likened a Twitter user to a pig and said pigs never change.

The AAP MP was also seen abusing the Prime Minister, Home Secretary and BJP leader Kapil Mishra. To attack his political opponents, he shamelessly used misogynistic comments while abusing them.

In a few tweets written in 2018, Kadian was also seen making appalling comments against former Indian TV reporter Sushant Sinha. Crossing all the bounds of civility, he also abused Sinha’s mother and accused her of incest! He did not even spare the viewers of ZEE News and launched the most vile abuses at them.

Once these tweets surfaced, netizens began calling for tough action against the AAP MP. Similarly, BJP spokesperson Tajindar Pal Singh Bagga tweeted: “Shame on @ArvindKejriwal for giving anti-Hindu Virender Singh Kadian a ticket. I will file FIR (through my attorney) against him tomorrow. I ask Kejriwal to immediately dismiss him from his party and apologize to the Hindus.

Several other Twitter users tagged the authorities concerned and called for the deputy’s expulsion. Internet users went further by questioning Arvind Kejriwal on the kind of people he welcomes into his political party.

Amid mounting demands for his ouster and appropriate legal action to be taken against him, following his questionable claim that his account was hacked, Kadian first made his ID private and then deleted it to cover up his wrongdoing, but his attempt to obscure matters was in vain. .

Earlier than promised, Bagga filed a complaint on Monday same. The complaint mentions that Kadian “deliberately and intentionally” posted the abusive tweet mentioning “33 crore of false Hindu gods”, which is extremely derogatory and abusive language used for worshiped Hindu deities.

The complaint called on the authorities to take strict action against Virender Singh Kadian and to register an FIR under Articles 295-A, 153, 153-A, 504 and 505 of the IPC under the Law on Communication Technologies. information and other applicable laws.

Surprisingly, hours after this controversy erupted, several other AAP leaders found themselves in similar circumstances. The tweets of the head of the IT unit of the AAP, Prabhakar Pandey, went viral after those of Kadian.

In a few tweets from 2014, Pandey can be seen abusing and targeting people for being “Modi supporters”. In one case, he continued to abuse a Twitter user for the same and also abused his mother. After it went viral, Pandey made her twitter account private to avoid further repercussions and to avoid further exposure.

Besides Pandey, AAP supporter Dr Safin, and his tweets became the topic of discussion when his abusive tweets went viral the same day. He could even be seen abusing supporters of the BJP and the party itself. In 2015, he indulged in abuse of the Indian media and made obscene comments against the fourth pillar of democracy. Following what seemed to be the AAP trend now, Safin was seen making derogatory comments against random Twitter users.

Apart from the party leaders, the AAP trolls are repeat offenders. In a tweet from 2014, AAP troll named Kapil could be seen abusing BJP and its supporters.

After all this social media shenanigans being exposed, the moot point remains the same. Twitter has once again proven to be a very one-sided and ignorant platform. On the one hand, the platform suspends right-hangers in the blink of an eye if they denounce the lies spread on social networks or talk about clear facts; on the other hand, such dirty behavior continues to be posted on the same platform by people belonging to political parties with which Twitter has no problem. Therefore, the platform doesn’t bother to address the elephant in the room!
